Harsh Thakur
Graduate Student
Harsh is a graduate student at SESE, specializing in the formation and evolution of NC and CC bodies, with a focus on their volatile depletion histories and the conditions prevalent in the early Solar System. He earned his B.S.-M.S. (Research) degree in 2024 from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru (India), with a major in Earth Sciences and a minor in Physics. Under the mentorship of Prof. Ramananda Chakrabarti, his undergraduate research explored HED meteorites, providing insights into the magmatic and impact history of asteroid Vesta. He also investigated aqueous alteration in CM chondrites through detailed elemental and isotopic analyses of Sr and Ca, complemented by modeling approaches.
